Steven Mickens
Chief Executive Officer

Steve’s role as Chief Executive Officer includes working closely with the Board of Directors to provide the vision, lead the growth, and implement the strategic plan of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier. Steve is responsible for bringing our mission to life in the community by working to ensure Clubs provide a safe and fun space where all our members can achieve Great Futures. Steve is involved in managing caring Club professionals ensuring a world class Club Experience. Steve has been involved with Boys & Girls Clubs since 2004 and began his current role in 2011.  With Steve in the top leadership position, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier has grown to include 11 school sites, 3 Club locations, and 1 Community Impact Program, serving approximately 6,000 youth and teens ages 6 – 18 through a variety of proven development programs. He recently expressed his commitment by saying “I have the privilege of working side by side with exceptional people within our organization and within a great community that is dedicated to helping young people. We set high expectations for our staff and youth to truly inspire greatness in the young people who need us most.” In 2017, Steve was invited to attend the Harvard Business School Executive Education Leadership Summit. In addition, Steve has been the recipient of numerous awards from the Boys & Girls Clubs including the 2017 Robert M. Sykes Award for Professional Excellence (National); 2016 Professional of the Year (Area); 2016 Executive of the Year (Regional); 2015 Executive of the Year (Regional). Steve regularly participates in Executive training and holds a degree in Communication and Media Studies from St. Francis College.

Terri Tubbs
Vice President of Development

With over 20 years of leadership in non-profit management and fundraising experience, Terri has led teams responsible for engaging individuals, foundations, corporations, government, and other supporters to raise resources for organizations throughout the United States including LaAmistad, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and National MS Society. Terri earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University. She also earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Lily Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI’s Fundraising School. Terri is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and previously a board member of the Global Alliance for Africa.

Anastasia Legakes, Ed. D.
Chief Operations Officer

Anastasia’s role as Chief Operations Officer is to provide leadership and stewardship to the operations of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier. She works with talented leaders in all departments to achieve the organization’s mission. With over 25 years of effective leadership, Anastasia’s professional experiences encompass advancement of executive-level leaders, organizational development, continuous quality improvement, and professional development that embraces strategic thinking; improved productivity; quality programming, and emotional intelligence.

Anastasia’s commitment to serving children is unwavering. A former high school teacher and school administrator, she had the privilege of creating innovative learning experiences for children in grades K-12. After leaving education, Anastasia came to the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement in 2017. She holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership and participates in continuous professional and personal learning opportunities.

Jay Duggan
Planned Giving Consultant

Jay Duggan is the founder and CEO of Launch Legacy Consulting, LLC. He has over twenty-six years’ professional experience, sixteen in the financial services industry as a financial/insurance advisor for individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits and school systems. For the past ten years, Jay has worked with several large nonprofits including the University of Georgia, Operation Blessing and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as both a frontline fundraiser and consultant in major gifts and planned giving. Jay recently furthered his specialization in planned giving by earning the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® from the American College of Financial Services.
